Wonderful Pointers for Stylish Living

The new year brings with it a new opportunity to be whoever you want to be. What is past is past, and the best thing is to look forward. If your resolution for 2021 is to be the best version of yourself, here are some tips you could look into.

Food: Nutritional Fun

At its most basic, fundamental level, food’s purpose is to provide our bodies with essential nutrients for growth and maintenance. Without it, the various systems found in the human anatomy cannot function well. This includes breathing, digestion, repair, and immunity. As my mother told me and your mother told you, eating many carrots will help prevent deterioration in your eyesight, and bananas will give you the necessary levels of potassium to get through a full day of work.

Still, that doesn’t mean that eating cannot be fun. Being healthy can also be an exciting, enjoyable process for you and your family. Instead of cooking the same old dishes every single day, why not try unique recipes and different tastes? And if you happen to have children, why not involve them in this process? Another option is to look into quirky bowls and plates or even a bambooware dinner set for kids if they are too young.

The key is to make the dining experience as happy and enjoyable for you and all the other members of your family.

Fashion: Age is Just a Number

“Dress your age, young lady! You are not fifteen anymore!” Whoever said this is probably a grumpy old man. Of course, there are appropriate clothes for specific occasions. If you are going to work, you shouldn’t wear a pair of sweats and a hoody. A person in shorts and a t-shirt will stand out for all the wrong reasons during a funeral wake.

Even so, fashion is not something that should be dictated to you by others. It is a choice you make based on your personality and what you believe in. If you so desire to wear a miniskirt, go right ahead. The same goes for a guy who cannot give up his favorite jeans or a slick pair of cowboy boots.

Fashion is about expression, and in turn, expression is about freedom. As long as you don’t offend anyone, there is nothing wrong with trying out different things. The process of aging is something we all have to deal with in our lives. But it shouldn’t be the only factor in deciding what you should put on whenever you want to.

Travel: Variety is the Spice of Life

If you want to go to Paris and the financial means to do so, go right ahead. If your life-long dream is to see the Great Wall of China or the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt, save up some money, take a few days off and jump on a plane. Wherever it is that you want to go is where you want to go, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Once you’ve gone through your bucket list, you could also try something else. You could take the path less taken and see what few are interested in seeing. Perhaps you could bathe with a bunch of wild monkeys at the beautiful Jigokudani Monkey Park in Japan. Or you could go ice-climbing in one of the many breathtaking glaciers of Norway.

Even though the world is getting smaller and smaller, there are still plenty of locales that are yet to be discovered, a diversity of natural wonders not found on the front page of a promotional package tour.

Mind: Embracing Your Personality

No two human beings are exactly alike. Even identical twins have differences in genetic makeup. Whether you believe personality is a matter of nature or nurture, who you are is not who I am and who I am is not who somebody else is.

Yet, many of us learn as children about the importance of fitting in, of being like others. If we want to succeed in society, we have to blend in and follow their guidance.

But this shouldn’t be the case. The reason why you are special is that you are different and unique. So learn to embrace that. If you are a bit odd and shy, it is ok. On the other hand, if you have an outgoing personality and love social interaction, that is acceptable.

It doesn’t mean you shouldn’t look for ways to improve and cannot be cordial to others. But being respectful is different from being someone else.

We all want to be happy and enjoy our lives. Four ways to do this are having fun with what you eat, dressing the way you want, traveling to exotic destinations, and learning to love and accept who you are. At the end of the day, our lives are ours alone, so why not make the best of them?
